ADAMO candles are individually hand-crafted and poured into apothecary-inspired amber jars in small batches. Each candle is bespoke and unique in its own way.

Our candles ingredients are simple. They are made using 100% natural soy wax. Soy wax comes from soybeans and is non-toxic, vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. It is also biodegradable and renewable, which makes soy wax a sustainable and environmentally friendly choice when compared to paraffin wax, which is made from petroleum oil. Soy is excellent to work with, clean burning, longer lasting and holds lots of fragrance, so you can enjoy your candle from its first to last burn. Each candle has a wick made from cotton and paper, delivering a reduced afterglow and an even burn.

Every ADAMO soy product is handmade especially for you and therefore takes a little longer to make. If we do not have the candle you want in stock, we will get to work as soon as we receive your order. Soy candles take up to 14 days to cure once they have been made.

Treat your ADAMO candle with love & care and enjoy it safely by following a few simple steps & safety precautions

TRIMMING YOUR WICK
Before each burn, trim your wick to 5mm. This will help to maintain a quality flame, along with a cleaner, brighter and smoother burn throughout the candle’s life. We recommend using a trimmer to trim your wick. However, a small sharp scissors or nail clippers will also work. If your wick is not trimmed, it may be heavy with leftover carbon and may produce smoke. Please note that your candle has been pre-trimmed for its first burn.

BURNING YOUR CANDLE
Place your candle on a level fire-resistant surface and keep it free from any wick trimmings, soot droppings or matches. Burn your candle for 2-4 hours at a time so as to ensure the melt pool reaches the edge of the container / glass before extinguishing. This will help to prevent what is known as a tunnelling effect, and is especially important for the first burn We advise not to burn your candle for longer than the maximum time of 4 hours.

EXTINGUISHING YOUR FLAME
When extinguishing your candle, it is best to use a candle snuffer. Blowing out your candle is not recommended as the liquid wax may splatter and your wick may continue to glow and omit a small amount of smoke. A snuffer will also help prevent your wick from drifting off centre.

STORING YOUR CANDLE
Store your candle in a cool and dry place in your home as too much heat can soften or melt the wax. Keep your candle out of direct sunlight as this may cause the scent to fade. Avoid drafty areas, as your candle will burn better in still air. Place a lid or dust protector on your container after use.

CLEANING YOUR JAR AND/OR LEFTOVER WAX

Hot water can be used to remove wax. Put the candle jar on a flat surface protected with a towel/tea towel. Pour hot to boiling water into the container. Always leave some room at the top. Let the container stand for up to 12 hours. The hot water will then melt the wax. The wax will float to the top as it hardens.  Make sure the water has cooled down before you remove the wax. Strain the water to get rid of any small wax bits. (Do not pour wax down the drain as it may cause a blockage.) Scrape any remaining wax and clean with soapy hot water. Your jar is now ready to be reused.
